About the Event
Learn DJ fundamentals with DJ Ali Colemen from Family Dance Brooklyn. Students will become familiar with DJ software and equipment and the basics of mixing tracks to build their own setlist.

Description: ELM Foundation along with Family Dance Brooklyn invites you to the 2023 Fall class, Kids On Decks!
Learn DJ fundamentals from software to equipment, and mixing skills. Do you have what it takes to be the next generation on the decks? Come give it a try with this introductory class.
Ages 10 and up!
DJ Ali Colemen from Family Dance Brooklyn, will introduce students to the Pioneer Rev1 decks, Serato DJ software, and basics of mixing tracks to build your own setlist.
On January 27th during our combined fall/winter student showcase we’ll celebrate with a dance party, where friends and family can dance the day away as you show off your new DJ skills.
REGISTRATION
Class size is limited to 10 to allow more "hands on decks!"
CLASS DATES AND SCHEDULE
Day 1 - Thursday, September 21st, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Day 2 - Thursday, September 28th, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Day 3 - Thursday, October 5th, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Day 4 - Thursday, October 12th, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Day 5 - Thursday, October 19th, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Day 6 - Thursday, October 26th, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Day 7 - Thursday, November 2nd, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Day 8 - Thursday, November 9th, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Due to the amount of interest and limited space in the class, we ask that your student is committed to attending all of the classes. Please check your calendars and verify the dates work. While we do understand things come up, please let us know in advance if you must miss class and we will do our best to schedule make up time so that they do not fall behind on the lessons.
