Time & Location

May 22, 2021, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Brooklyn, 191 N 14th St, Brooklyn, NY 11249, USA

About the Event

First, children will produce a collection of abstract colorfield drawings which will then be the “ink” for shapes and silhouettes traced on the back of the paper onto a new collaborative piece. This process is a play on the printmaking technique called monotype, but will instead use kid-friendly (non-toxic) and accessible materials that children can easily replicate at home.

A short slideshow will introduce the children to iconic depictions of dances in art history which will then be available to trace and incorporate into the collaborative drawing at the end. Examples will include Hieronymus Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights, Botticelli’s Primavera and Bruegel’s notorious dancing scenes.
