About the Event

How to Make a Documentary in One Day

In 1980, one of the world's most famous Polish directors, Krzysztof Kieślowski, created a film entitled "Talking Heads." Currently, young people are widely using or taking inspiration from fragments of this film to create their own videos on TikTok. Often they do not know the history of these fragments or where they come from.

Kieślowski made his film in a way that was extremely simple but also very effective. He asked people from ages 1 to 100 two simple questions: "Who are you?" and "What do you want?" In 18 minutes, he showed the whole life of a human being.

During the workshop, we will take inspiration from Kieślowski's film while using current social media tools and models. Creating 1-2 minute videos of a single "day-in-the-life" showing a vivid, true portrait of the youth of 2023.
